Piano & Voice

Elle is a musician with a background in piano, vocal performance, and electronic music composition with a lifelong passion for musical expression and creativity. Originally from the East Coast, she spent her childhood in Cambria, Iowa, and her teenage years in Ankeny, but currently resides in Des Moines.

She studied at Iowa State University, where she majored in Anthropology and minored in Music Technology. Her academic work included studies in neuroscience and the effects of music on the brain, influencing her holistic, student-centered approach to instruction. Through her music technology studies, she gained experience in sound design, digital composition, and audio production, working with modern creative tools alongside traditional musicianship. Throughout college, she also studied vocal performance to further hone her skills. 

Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that music is the language of the soul. She strives to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, express themselves, and grow their understanding of music with confidence.

In addition to teaching, Elle also works as a Proposal Manager, is currently pursuing her MBA, and serves on the Board of the Civic Music Association, reflecting her commitment to leadership, arts advocacy, and music education within the broader community.

In her downtime, she enjoys anything involving music, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family—including her two cats Ziggy and Giles, who are always close by.
