Jenni

Piano

Jenni grew up in Perry, Iowa, and started taking piano lessons in third grade. As a high school student, she was asked by her choir director to help accompany the choir and play background music at special school events. While pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, Jenni continued studying piano. Her teaching degree collided with her years studying piano when, during her first teaching job, her students’ parents asked her to teach piano lessons to their children after seeing her play at chapel and school concerts.

Jenni fell in love with teaching piano. She tailors lessons to fit the needs and interests of each student, going beyond the method books to incorporate additional music and activities that get students excited and help them learn. She strives to help students accept mistakes as part of the learning process and to build self-confidence, teaching them to reflect on the growth they’ve made and to break down challenging through key strategies that are applicable to so much of life.

When she is not teaching or playing piano, Jenni enjoys various artistic pursuits, traveling, hiking, and going to local festivals and events.
