Piano

Luke is a sought-after piano teacher and performer born and raised in Des Moines, IA. He began formal piano training at the age of 11 and has been in love with music ever since. His passion motivated him to pursue music in college, where he earned multiple degrees in music and pursued further graduate studies. For the past decade, he has been teaching piano to students of all ages.

As a teacher, Luke’s top priority is to nurture his students’ love for music, recognizing that passion is the most powerful long-term motivator. He understands that every student is unique and customizes his lessons to align with their individual goals and interests. Equally skilled in promoting healthy coordination and mind-body connections at the keyboard, Luke strives to cultivate both great musicality and physical ease in his students at every stage.

Luke earned his degrees from the University of Iowa (B.M., Piano Performance) and the University of South Dakota (M.M., Piano Performance and Collaborative Piano). He continued his graduate studies at Salem College (Winston-Salem, NC), where he focused on well-coordinated, injury-preventive keyboard technique.

Aside from teaching and performing, Luke can be found hiking in national parks, reading mystery novels, and exploring local coffee shops.
